International Womens Day - Stepping it up on the streets of New York City

3/8/2015

Thousands sang, chanted and rallied for gender equality during a march to mark International Women’s Day.
It was a great experience and you will see from the pictures that the Canadians are front and centre.  Below, you can see the Canadian Flag being held above the Canadian delegation at the UN Women's Day parade.  At bottom right, you can see the Assembly hall filled later by delegates for the opening of the 59th session opening on March 9.  I was one of the Canadian delegates briefed by the Canadian government after the opening,   -  Kathryn Wilkinson
