Serving customers with Disabilities:  required training for all CFUW members per Ontario Council's directive

At the spring meeting of Ontario Council the participants received training on the requirements of the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service. Ontario Council has mandated this program as mandatory training for all CFUW members. Below you can review the regulations.

This Guide gives a basic overview of the requirements of the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07. This Ontario law came into force on January 1, 2008. It is the first accessibility standard created under the authority of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). Throughout this Guide, the regulation is referred to in short form as the customer service standard or the standard. The Guide is designed to help people or organizations that provide goods or services to the public or other third parties to understand their obligations under the customer service standard.
