IFUW Proposed Name Change: Seeking Input from All CFUW Members by January 30, 2015
To: All Club Executives; the Board of Directors; Regional Directors; Standing and Special Committee Chairs; Board Alumnae; Life Members and Members at Large
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the International Federation of University Women's (IFUW) work to rebrand the organization to create a sustainable future, IFUW wishes to change its name to Graduate Women International. The IFUW Board believes that this name will convey the image of a group of graduate women united in a common purpose to empower girls and women everywhere through education.
In the restructuring process, IFUW wishes to grow the Federation and to develop an alternative income stream generated by open conferences. The plan is to evolve the 2016 IFUW Triennial in Cape Town, South Africa into a public conference that attracts a wide audience, including leading educationalists and educational funders. The IFUW Board believes that it needs to operate under a new brand that is understood and memorable and this new brand must be established before marketing packages are prepared for the Conference.
The CFUW Board of Directors is requesting your input on this topic. The results will provide the Board with clear instructions as to how to vote as a National Federation Affiliate (NFA) on the proposed name change.
Please note: this is not a Club vote process; the survey is open to all members to voice their opinion. As National Office does not have membership lists for the Clubs, we ask that all Club Presidents and RDs publicize and distribute the survey.
