In 2013 the Mississauga News ran an article on an outreach programme for women' shelters in our community. The project was founded in 2011 by the four Mulroney sisters-in-law as a not-for-profit company. It is not a charity. It was curiously named the Shoebox Project and is spreading across Canada. The goal was simply to fill shoeboxes up with items that are useful at Christmas for women in Canadian shelters.
This year we matched our record for last year of 47 boxes. Our members were generous in their support as you can see from the pictures. While the boxes varied in content each box got either mitts, sock or hats and soaps, toothbrushes or something sweet. Our boxes will go to women in Peel Shelters'.
