SOME LESSER KNOWN AREAS

International Advocacy:
GWI has teams of UN representatives who work actively to ensure that priority issues are taken into consideration in international debate. Because of
IFUW's special consultative status, these representatives have an official presence at the meetings and conferences where new international conventions
and agreements are drafted and adopted. There they are able to highlight members' concerns through oral and written statements, special presentations
and intense discussions with individual government delegates. Special areas of concern are status of women, peace, health and the environment.

Bina Roy Partners in Development:
This program encourages international solidarity and partnerships between GWI federations and associations. Its primary goal is to support projects empowering women and girls through education and leadership development. In 2009, donor contributions supported projects in more than 30 countries. Including the following examples:
ARGENTINA

COSTA RICA

INDIA

NEPAL

SAMOA

ZIMBABWE
New project: "Rescue of the Girl Child in Street Peril" - an initiative based in Rosario, a town of more then one million inhabitants, where an estimated 400 children live on the streets and in  back alleys.

Expansion of community dental clinic and oral health education programme for elementary school pupils and their teachers

Empowerment of Women in Indian Society: Career and Professional Counselling Courses for women living in poverty

Special library and reading room for women and girls in central Kathmandu

New Project: Provision of a hospital library for children at the National Hospital Samoa

National scholarship programme for girls and young women in government
Fellowships & Grants:
GWI and its national affiliates help to build the future by offering fellowships and grants to enable women and girls achieve their educational goals. Like the Charity trust these fellowships help women with graduate studies.

GWI Conferences:
Every three years GWI holds a conference with all members of the associates welcomed as delegates. This is in my opinion is similar to our National AGM but offers not only the business of GWI, resolutions debate but the opportunity to have women from around the world showcase their research on many areas of interest. The most recent conferenced was held on Aug 16-21, 2013 in Istanbul.
